Your Support Needed for Improved Safety and Parking at Foxton
Dear Staff, Parents & Carers,
I hope this letter finds you well. On 15 November 2023, the Secretary of State for the Department of Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities made a significant decision to grant outline planning permission for the construction of a new prison in Gartree. This decision will undoubtedly have implications for our local community, and it is crucial that we, as a collective voice, make our concerns and suggestions heard.
In the coming weeks, I have scheduled meetings with Neil O'Brien MP and representatives from the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to discuss the impact of the new prison, particularly concerning the safety of our families during drop-off and pick-up times. Parking on Gallow Field Road is already unsafe during peak times, and the addition of the new prison is expected to intensify the situation.
To ensure Foxton's voice is adequately represented, the MoJ has opened an online form for the local community to submit their comments and concerns regarding the prison's impact. Your input is vital in advocating for the well-being and safety of our school community, especially in our plea for additional parking for parents and improved road safety measures.
I kindly request your support in taking a few minutes to complete the online survey, which can be accessed using the following link: New prison near Market Harborough: Reserved matters - Ministry of Justice - Citizen Space
Your honest and constructive comments will contribute to our collective effort to secure additional parking and improved road safety measures outside our school. Let us ensure that the concerns of Foxton Primary School are not only acknowledged but also addressed in the planning process.
I really hope that together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
Mr Norman
