October Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and enjoyable half-term break. A big thank you to all the families who joined us for our Harvest Celebration at church before the holiday. Your generosity with foodbank donations was magnificent and will make a huge difference to our local community.

October at Foxton was lively and challenging in many ways, filled with activities that showcased the energy and community spirit that make our school so special.

Our Rabbits class had an adventurous - though very wet - trip to East Carlton Park, where they explored local geography and took part in team-building challenges in the cosy shelter of a log cabin.

Meanwhile, despite having two classrooms temporarily unavailable, we’ve continued welcoming prospective families for school tours. If you’re considering applying for a place for September 2025, please arrange a visit through the school office. Applications are open on the Leicestershire County Council website until early January.

Friendship was a central theme this month, perfectly coinciding with our #HelloYellow celebration for World Mental Health Day. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed in yellow, raising awareness and showing support for young people’s mental health.

Also this month, we surprised the children with a new water play installation on the field! Made possible with funding from the East Midlands Railway Community Fund, this addition has quickly become a favourite. The children have enjoyed sending water down the shoots and channels, building dams, directing the flow, and racing various objects down the track. We’re grateful for this enhancement to our outdoor learning space.

Our Year 5/6 football team displayed fantastic effort in the Pokemon Cup, taking two matches all the way to penalties - a competitive and exciting achievement!

Beyond sports, creativity has flourished this month. We’ve seen impressive baking projects, creative artwork, and celebrated the end of the first geography unit for Rabbits, Otters, and Badgers.
