Our first nature club meeting of the year unsurprisingly involved weeding and watering. The herb bed is absolutely flourishing and full of pollinators as almost every plant is flowering. The eagle-eyed children spotted various bugs which you might be able to pick out in the photo of the sage below. There is a green shield bug and two bright-coloured cinnamon bugs. If you look very closely there is also something which is in the larval stage in the top right corner. Some of the weeds they pulled up were quite pretty such as the scarlet pimpernel, but we want the herbs to have room to spread. We also watered our fruit trees and courgette and hope to be cooking something up on another Thursday.
